Built for Tradies, Backed by History 

Hudson Building Supplies has been part of Australia’s building industry for over 170 years. Starting in 1846, when William Henry Hudson set up shop in Sydney as a skilled joiner, the Hudson name quickly became synonymous with quality craftsmanship. From creating timberwork for Sydney landmarks to helping shape the construction boom of the 19th century, Hudson has been a trusted partner for builders and tradespeople from the start. 

Adapting and Growing with the Industry

Hudson has always moved with the times. In the 1970s, the unforgettable “Udson with a Haitch” ad campaign cemented our reputation with a clever nod to the brand’s heritage. By 2003, we rebranded as Hudson Building Supplies Pty Ltd, sharpening our focus on serving tradies and the construction sector. Over the next decade, we partnered with Fletcher Building and later joined HTH Stores Pty Limited under Woolworths, adapting to market shifts and reinforcing our commitment to builders and suppliers across the country.
