The Mosquito Larval Trap is an innovative new design that traps mosquito larvae preventing them from emerging from the water as new adult mosquitos. The trap works by mimicking a pond of stagnant water, the natural breeding area of many mosquito species, including mosquitos known to transmit diseases. Mosquitos lay their eggs on or by the water and the mosquito larvae then swim down into the bucket. The larvae become trapped under the lid by the ascension ring and cannot emerge from the water. These traps use no insecticides or poisons and do not harm beneficial insects such as bees or butterflies.
