The Kapunda Hardware site was originally used for building supplies by the Trotta family, and in 1979 became known as Vic Trotta Hardware. Over the years it has been known as a Homestead, and True Value store before becoming a Thrifty Link, known as Kapunda Hardware & Garden Center in 2007. In 2023 the store underwent major renovations and in November 2024 was relaunched as Kapunda Home Hardware.
This hardware has been owned and run by some amazing people over the years and we would not be here today if it was not for the hard work by the Trotter family and more recently John and Roger. We are incredibly grateful for the foundation stones they laid and built upon.
We are proud of our small but mighty family owned and run hardware store, and do our very best to support our local community. In 2024 we were humbled to receive recognition as ‘Best Customer Service’ and a finalist in the ‘Business of the Year’ award by the Kapunda Business Alliance. In 2025 we started ‘Feel Good Sausages’. Fundraising opportunities for local clubs and associations to sell a hardware sausage with all proceeds going back to their club. We are generously supported by local producers to provide this BBQ for the community.
Our socials users love the #DogsofKapundaHomeHardware, and our quest to raise the profiles of our wonderful Home Hardware mascots, Rusty & Sandy to where they were in the 90’s. We love Hardware, it is our Home…we hope it becomes your home too!
